Lawrence E. Azevedo
U. Mass-Lowell Security Officer

LOWELL: Lawrence E. Azevedo, age 65, a resident of the Belvidere area of Lowell for 22 years, formally of Tewksbury, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

He was the beloved husband 22 years to Sotara (Khun) Azevedo NC, and devoted father of Robert P. Azevedo and Roderick P. Azevedo, both of Lowell.

Born in Lowell on September 23, 1957, he was the son of Virginia (Kelm) (Azevedo) Stowell and her husband Walter, of Tewksbury and Lawrence A. Azevedo, and his wife Joan, of Fairfield Glade, NC.

Larry was raised in Tewksbury. He attended St. Peter’s Parochial Grammar School in Lowell and graduated from Austin Preparatory High School in Reading in 1975.

He was employed by Securitas Security Company and worked as a security guard at U. Mass-Lowell for the last several years.

Larry enjoyed tinkering with mechanical devices, woodworking, and many outdoor activities especially camping and canoeing.

In addition to his wife, sons, parents, and stepparents, he is survived by three brothers, Warren D. Azevedo (Robin), of Hudson, NH, Brian J. Azevedo (Gloria), of Corona, CA, and David R. Azevedo, of Louisiana: his niece, Melissa Azevedo: his nephew, Ryan Azevedo: his stepbrother, Walter Stowell (Lee), and their family, Samantha Corson (Nate), Cashton and Carter Corson, his stepbrother, Wayne Stowell (Suzie), and their family, Michael Stowell (Jess), his stepsister, Kathline Fredrick (Dan Sullivan) and their family, Devin and James, his stepbrother, David Stowell (Lisa) and their family, David, Erin, Haley, Heather and children. Larry also leaves his brother-in-law, Savan Khun (Wendy) and their family, Moleka and Johnson.

Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 16th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin Tuesday, Jan. 17th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury.
