Obituary

June L. Gardner, 91, formerly of Leading Street, Johnston, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Briarcliff Manor in Johnston. She was the widow of Harry William Gardner, who died in 1982. They had been married for 28 years at the time of his death.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Henry Trudel and the late Emma Lillian (Mann) Trudel. She had lived in Johnston for 30 years and had previously lived in Providence.
She had worked for Mine Safety in Smithfield. She was a devoted member of St. Peter and St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Providence where she served on the Vestry, Altar Guild, taught Sunday school, and volunteered for many activities and fundraisers.
She is survived by her children: Jeffrey Gardner and his wife, Barbara of Dayton, OH, Sharon Dias of Manville and Jonathan Gardner and his wife Candy of Johnston, her grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Jayne, Joshua and Jeannette Gardner, and Melissa Decoteaux. She is predeceased by her sister, Nancy McDonough, and her grandson, Jacob Gardner.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, January 16th at 11am in St. Andrew and St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 70 Pemberton Street, Providence. Burial will be in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation will be 10-11am in the church. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to and St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 70 Pemberton Street, Providence, RI 02908
