Edwena C. (Sanford) King, 87, of Tiverton, RI, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry G. King, Jr.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Leverett and Thelma (Manchester) Sanford, she had lived in Tiverton for most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Old Stone Church, where she sang in the choir and served on various committees over the years. She enjoyed singing, cooking for her friends and yard work but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also loved her pet dog Friday.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Thelma Dzialo of Bristol, Linda Wetzel and her husband Warren of Little Compton and Beth Baker of Fall River; 3 brothers: Charles Sanford of Fall River, David Sanford of Tiverton and Bryan Sanford of Tiverton; a sister: Arvilla Turcotte of Little Compton; 7 grandchildren: Calvin King and his wife Cris, Amanda Gomes and her husband Patrick, Jonathan Gomes and his wife Jacqueline, Megan Sylvia and her companion Kevin, Elizabeth Dahlem and her husband Jonathan, Laura Dzialo and Heather Cabral and her husband Greg; 3 great grandchildren: Lily, Jonathan and Harley.
She was sister of the late Thelma Elsie Quick.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the First Baptist Old Stone Church at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
