Shrewsbury – Theresa M. (LaMountain) Casey, 89, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Theresa was married for 56 years to the late Richard N. Casey Sr. who passed away in 2009. She is survived by her 4 children, Karen A. Ward and her husband, Dennis of Attleboro, MA, Richard N. Casey Jr. and his wife, Linda of Worcester, Kenneth J. Casey and his girlfriend Peggy Moisan of Shrewsbury and Mark A. Casey of Webster and his girlfriend Kelly Chippas, two sisters, Shirley Lilley of Leicester and Janet Walsh and her husband, William of Worcester; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Casey was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Josephine (Prunier) LaMountain and is also predeceased by a brother-in law, Thomas Lilley, Laurence Casey and his wife Theresa and Raymond J Casey and his wife Joyce. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and attended Quinsigamond College and worked for many years as a bookkeeper retiring from Produx Manufacturing Company.
Theresa was an avid gardener and always enjoyed going to yard sales, often bringing home items that she would tinker with. She loved spending time with her husband for many years at their summer home in Narragansett, RI and cherished the time she spent with her family.
The family would like to thank Home Instead and the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehab and The Jewish Home Hospice for their care of Theresa.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, January 12, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 9 to 10 AM prior to the funeral mass. Memorial contributions in memory of Theresa may be made to Meals on Wheels c/o Elder Services of Worcester 67 Millbrook St. Worcester, MA 01606.
