Danny, Ray Pierce, 60, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, January 6, 2023, in Douglas, Georgia, at his residence after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, January 8, 2023, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Tony Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Pierce was born July 13, 1962 in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Velma Joiner Pierce. He was raised in Ocilla and graduated from Irwin County High School in 1980. He spent the vast majority of his life working in the trailer plant business across multiple counties and prided himself on his efficiency and craftsmanship, making him an asset to any company of which he was a part. Danny Ray had a wide range of hobbies including: woodworking, fishing, and golfing. Mr. Pierce was very involved in coaching his three sons in football, wrestling, and baseball during their youth. Under his tough exterior was a man who went out of his way to help his many friends and family in any way possible- no matter the circumstances. Nobody went without if Danny Ray was around. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his two dogs, Jake and Queenie, to whom he doted upon with much love and attention.
He is survived by his three sons: Cam & Cheryl Pierce of Fitzgerald, Ray & Michelle Pierce of Ocilla and Clay Pierce of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren: Victoria, Peyton, Maddox, and Eva Grace Pierce and two brothers: J. Wayne Pierce of Duluth and David & Lucy Pierce of Ocilla.
