Mr. Donald J. Cowan, Jr, 73, of Tewksbury, MA, formerly of Medford, Reading and Andover, MA, peacefully passed away at the Life Care Center in North Billerica on Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Laraine A. (Keller) Cowan.
Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Donald J. and Jean S. (Whittier) Cowan. Donald was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1968. Mr. Cowan was self employed and owner of A Plus Printing, Brian’s Father’s Hot Dogs among other endeavors.
In his spare time, Donald enjoyed being involved in Corvette clubs. He also was the past President of the Reading Lions Club and past Vice President of the Reading Chamber of Commerce. Donald was known for his great sense of humor and big smile. He will be dearly missed.
Donald is also survived by his loving son Brian Cowan and his wife Rochelle of Reading, MA, and was Grampy to Wiliam Cowan. He is also survived by siblings David Cowan of The Villages, FL, Dianne Cowan of Stoneham, MA, Debbie Berquist of The Villages, FL, Jean Mazzaferro and her husband Thomas of Nahant, MA, Judy Cowan and her husband Tim Jenkins of Charlotte, NC, John Cowan of Indian Trail, NC, James Cowan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Joyce Cowan of Orlando, FL, brothers-in-law; Douglas and his wife Joanne Keller and Scott and his wife Sandy Keller, sister-in-law; Kristine Jannini and many nieces and nephews. Donald was also the brother-in-law of the late Randy, Kenneth and Janet Keller.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 3 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
