Josephine Rose (Sicuso) Polcari, age 80, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, January 3 rd , at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, she was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Carmela Sicuso. Josephine settled in Medford in 1960 and worked for over 20 years in the meat department at Food Master in Medford. In her retirement, her favorite past-times included playing the slot machines at the casinos and eating at restaurants.
Josephine was the devoted mother of Vincent Polcari, and the loving twin sister of Frances Sicuso, both of Medford. She was the dear sister of the late Joseph Sicuso and his late wife Marie, the late Charlie Sicuso and his wife Gerri, the late Melina Sicuso, the late Dickie Sicuso and his late wife Mary, and the late Sam Sicuso. Josephine was the beloved aunt of Johnny, James and Adele Sicuso, and is survived by many loving great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, January 11 th at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family on Tuesday, January 10 th from 4 through 7 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
