Ronald N. Sherman, 61

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Ronald N. Sherman, age 61, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Grasso) Sherman, to whom he was wed on June 23, 1990.

Born in Brockton, MA on January 16, 1961, he was a loving son of Nelson H. and Anna M. (Small) Sherman of Mansfield.

Ron grew up in Mansfield and was a 1979 graduate of Mansfield High School. He furthered his education, graduating with an associate’s degree from Dean Junior College. He then proceeded to North Adams State College where he met the love of his life, Susan, his wife of thirty-two years. He graduated with a degree in business management to which he used to operate his company, Sherman Home Improvement. He successfully ran operated his business in the Mansfield area for over twenty years.

Spending time with his adoring family was always Ron’s first priority and he was so excited with the recent birth of his first grandchild. Friends were also especially important to Ron and the memories created at his lake house in Rhode Island, golfing with the “Thursday Hackers”, boating with the gang from the “Red Neck Yacht Club” and the simple pleasure of times spent on the front porch with his dog “Mo” will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Ron was an avid New England sports fan and, in his youth, and later in life was an active hockey player. He also enjoyed skiing in the winter and water sports in the summer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his devoted children Bryan A. Sherman and his wife Brianna of North Attleboro and Samantha R. Sherman of Mansfield. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Wesley James Sherman. He was the dear brother of Bob Sherman of Sandwich, Terri MacLean and her husband Eric of Norton and Cindy Fonger and her husband Jeff of Jackson, Maine. He is also survived by his loving aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, January 11th from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

A service in celebration of his life will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Ronald’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to The Hope Health Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02904.
