Margaret Fulwood, 89, of Tifton died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Maple Court. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Thursday, June 1, 2006 with Dr. W. Ches Smith, III officiating. Pallbearers will be John Edward Peterson, William Bowen, Jr., P. D. Fulwood, IV, Rob Reinhardt, George Wright and Vann Thornton. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Celeste and Bill Bowen and Carolyn and Bobby Hill; one son, Paul Fulwood, III and his wife, Judy, all of Tifton. She has eight grandchildren, Marlene B. Thornton and William Bowen of Tifton, Robert Hill of Valdosta and David Hill of Albany, Pam Barker of Spokane, Washington, Tricia Fulwood of Memphis, Tennessee, and P.D. Fulwood, IV of Tifton. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Melissa Harper and Bowen Thornton, Sara Katherine, Megan and Anna Bowen, all of Tifton, Braxton Hill of Valdosta, Porter Hill of Albany and Elizabeth and Thomas Barker of Spokane, Washington; and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fulwood was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fulwood, Jr. and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. David Braxton Harrell; her brother, Edward Harrell and her sister, Katherine Peterson.
Mrs. Fulwood was born on June 23, 1916 in Doerun, Georgia and was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she was member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she played the piano in the Youth Department for many years and was a member of Circle 5. She was a member of The Music Club, Club 55 and a Founding member of the Azalea Garden Club. She has been a resident of Maple Court for the last several years.
