Sylvia I. (Kokot) Parks, 93, of Mansfield, MA formerly of New York died on Saturday May 27, 2006 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, MA. She was the wife of the late Bertram E. Parks.
Born in Corfu, New York on May 14, 1913 she was a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Kokot.
She was educated in Corfu schools and was a graduate of Corfu High School. Sylvia was a homemaker and had formerly worked for Sylvania and GTE before retiring at the age of 65.
Sylvia had a love for caring for animals. She had lived in Mansfield for the past 4 years and was formerly of Corfu, New York and Akron, New York for 89 years.
She was the mother of the late Norman S. Parks. She was the sister of the late Michael Kokot and Walter Kokot. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren Michelle I. Cunningham of Foxboro, MA, JoAnn M. Parks of Quincy, MA and Christopher N. Parks of Amherst, New Hampshire. Her great grandchild Casey M. Washburn of Quincy. Also survived by her daughter in law Geanine Parks of Mansfield as well several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in New York with burial St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Akron, New York.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North main St. Mansfield.
