Marion A. (Morrison) Hepworth, 86, of Derry, NH died peacefully, after a brief illness, on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry surrounded by her children. She was the beloved wife of Alfred T. Hepworth with whom she celebrated her 66th wedding anniversary on September 16th.
Born in Boston, MA on February 8, 1920, a daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary (Buck) Morrison. Mrs. Hepworth was a resident of Derry for over 70 years. She graduated with the class of 1937 from Pinkerton Academy and attended the University of New Hampshire.
She was a homemaker, active supporter of sporting events of her children and grandchildren, avid golfer, gardener, bowler and bridge player. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family at her cottage on Beaver Lake. She was a member of the Chestnut Hill Chapel in New Boston, NH.
Members of her family include, her husband, Alfred T. Hepworth of Derry, two sons, Kenneth Hepworth and his wife Jacqueline of Derry, Carl Hepworth and his wife Gail of Londonderry, her daughter, Marsha Solms and her husband Chuck of The Villages, FL, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, her brother, Lewis Morrison of Phoenix, AZ and also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Thursday June 1st from 5 – 8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00 am in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., E. Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. There was a reception at the church following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Chestnut Hill Chapel, 219 Chestnut Hill Rd., New Boston, NH 03070.
