Obituary

Laura Schultz Brader of Prosser, Washington passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at the age of 99 while residing at Sun Terrace.

The oldest of four, Laura was born in Yakima, Washington to Henry A and Marie (Ludwig) Schultz on August 11, 1923. She spent her early years in Yakima where she graduated from Yakima High School in 1941. On April 8, 1942, Laura married William “Bill” Brader in Wichita Falls, Texas. From this union came three children: Beverley, James and Lori.

Laura and Bill moved to Prosser in 1949 when Bill’s application to the Northern Pacific Railroad was accepted. He purchased 80 acres in the Roza Irrigation Project which they farmed until the mid 1990’s. Laura began her working career of 27+ years for the Benton County Clerk’s office in 1959 retiring in 1986 with the last 20 years as elected Clerk. While in office she served as President of the Washington Association of County Clerks.

After retiring, Laura and Bill found joy in traveling in their Beaver motor coach exploring the country they loved with a memorable trip to Alaska.

Laura is survived by her children, Beverley Labusohr (Gary) of Pullman, James Brader (Kay) and Lori Still (Dan) both of Prosser. Continuing her legacy are her grandchildren, Thor Osborn (Julia), Jeffrey Still (Amy), Jonathan Still (Jodee), Jean Labushor (Shawna), Heather Atterberry (Andrew) and Tamara Brader; along with her great-grandchildren, Haley, Quinn and Everett Labusohr; Kyleigh, Delaney, Courtney and Justin Still; Aiden and Adalyn Atterberry; and Brader Still.

Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband William “Bill” Brader; her sisters Adeline Zagar and Viola Fisk; her brother Alfred Schultz and grandson, William Brader Labushor in 2011.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Prosser Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at The Prosser House, 1232 Wine Country Rd, Prosser, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your charity of choice.
