Obituary

Angelina (Serino) Oliver, “Angie”, “Josie,” age 92, a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022, with her family by her side.

Born in Boston, she was the youngest of 6 children, the daughter of Adama and Sabato Serino. In the late 60’s Josie moved to Winchester where she would go on to raise both of her sons in the community.

To know Josie was to love her Italian cooking. She took great pride in her recipes and made sure everyone around her was well fed at all times. She always said she was happiest when she was cooking.

Josie is lovingly survived by her son, Arthur M. “Artie” Oliver of Saugus, her daughter-in-law, Maureen Donovan Oliver, of Boston, her granddaughters, Katherine Oliver Dilly of Stoneham (Adam), Erin Oliver Whitaker of Lawrence (Jared) and her beloved Great-grandchildren, Samuel, Hunter, Christian and Charlotte. She is predeceased by her son, Samuel Oliver and her brothers and sisters, Mary Hanna, Frank Serino, George Serino, Alma Grubis and Edith Mahon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Friday, December 30 at 9:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 11AM.
