Allen J. Kirby, 78, of Taunton passed away at home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was the former husband and dear friend of Gladys (Shorey) Kirby of Westport.
Mr. Kirby was born in Fall River, son of the late Clarence E. and Edith (Medeiros) Kirby and had been a longtime resident of Taunton. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he worked as a delivery driver for Perkins Food Service. He enjoyed trips to Boston, the casino, playing cards and having coffee with friends. He especially loved spending the holidays with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors along with his former wife include his brother: Leonard Kirby of Tiverton; along with 6 nieces and nephews: Christine (Kirby) Dobyna of Westport, Dora Kirby of Westport, Michael Kirby of Westport, Robert V. Kirby of Westport, Sherrie (Kirby) DuVarney of Westport and Christopher Kirby of Fall River.
He was the brother of the late Robert E. Kirby.
