Obituary

PARSONSFIELD- William “Buck” Buchanan Born September 14, 1938 – Deceased December 16, 2022. William attended Falmouth schools. From an early age he had a fondness for old cars and motorcycles and owned many of both. He started working at an early age and had a large paper route by age 12. By the age of 15, he was driving an ice truck for his uncle's company Elm Ice Co and Oil. At 16 years of age he was one of three employees to start work for Gus Barber at Barber Beef & Poultry. At the age of 17 joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1958. William enjoyed every job that he ever had, commercial baker at A & P Bakery, installer for Otis Elevator Co, part time police officer for the Town of Falmouth, General Manager of M.B.I. Security, and Private Investigator and Lie Detection Examiner. In 1973, William went to work at Maine Correctional Center in Windham and retired from there in 1996. William met the "love of his life" Nicole Kittredge on December 2, 1992. She would always refer to him as "Willie." They were married on May 30, 1993. After retirement, William went to work for Mr. Richard Dyke as a security officer at Bushmaster Firearms. When Bushmaster was sold, William continued his employment with Mr. Dyke at Windham Weaponry until very recently. William is survived by his beloved wife Nicole Buchanan, sister Catherine Cummings, niece Cheryl Eliason, nephew Mark Eliason, nephew Larry Eliason & wife Jackie, and two step children; James Kittredge & wife Tandra, and Melissa Kittredge & spouse Mark Bolton.
