Obituary



Antonetta M. (Raspa) Ballero, of Seabrook, NH, formerly of Medford, passed away on Sunday, December 18th. She was 96. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the cherished daughter of the late Saverio and Rosina (Squillacioti) Raspa.

Antonetta was an active member of the Seabrook Women’s Club and Seabrook Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, cooking homemade delicious meals, knitting, rug hooking, scratching scratch tickets and traveling with John to Florida and Italy.

Antonetta was the beloved wife of the late John V. Ballero. She was the devoted mother of MaryAnn Ankiewicz and her late husband Robert, and Patricia Vaughan and her husband Stephen. She was the loving grandmother of John Ankiewicz, Edward Ankiewicz, Jennifer Anton, Fallon Henkel and her husband Jim and Kelsey Vaughan. She was the caring great grandmother of Calvin, Jonathan, Lila, Nicholas, Julianne and Audrey. She was the dear aunt to Rosemarie Gulla, John Gulla and Joseph Sceppa, and the dear sister of the Mary Gulla and Isabella Sceppa.

Antonetta’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, December 21st at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Antonetta’s name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
