Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Easom Wiggins, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Douglas Center for Caring Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Corey Thompson officiating. Mrs. Wiggins will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Bubba Watson, Joe Easom, Juan Torres, Wes Thornhill, Allen Walker and Austin Rodriguez will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Thornhill, Blake Rowe, Tanner Marchant, Tyler Marchant, Cody Caulder, Dakota Watson, Andrew Walker, Brantley Walker, Wil Brown, Matthew Hunter, Logan Brown and Blayke Story.

Born January 29, 1939, in Rochelle, Mrs. Wiggins was the daughter of the late Charles Mallory Easom and Hazel Addison Easom. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, James Albert Goodwin, Jerry W. Burkett and Henry Herman Wiggins; one daughter, Audrey Sylinda “Cindy” Tovar; two brothers, Homer Easom and Charles Easom; and two sisters, Julia Ann Davis and Mary Louise Easom. Before retiring, she was employed as a seamstress at J. P. Stevens and Oxford Industries in Tifton. She loved the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR and she enjoyed daily reading, watching The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Walter and Tina Burkett of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Carl Easom of Albany; one sister, Betty Tyler of Tifton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Juan Torres of Texas, Kevin Edenfield, Erica and Wes Thornhill, all of Tifton, Erica Jean and Nicholas Joel, both of Ohio and Aryana Burkett of Jacksonville, Florida; nine great-grandchildren, Austin and Victoria, Brandon, Liana and Blake, all of Texas; Sylinda, Dayln, Brookland and John, all of Tifton; and Brielle and Jeremiah, both of Ohio; thirteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Betty Sellars of Tifton.
