Obituary

Margaret Louise (Logue) Reardon, 61, of South Dartmouth died Thursday August 8, 2002 at New England Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. She was the wife of Rev. Deacon Jeremiah J. Reardon; they had been married for 39 years.

Born in Boston, the daughter of Edward "Pop" Logue of Mansfield and the late Catherine (Coyne) Logue, she had lived in Jamaica Plain, Norwood, and Roslindale before moving to Dartmouth 32 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth where she was a member of St. Mary's Guild.

Mrs. Reardon was an active supporter of Birthright of New Bedford and the Mothers of Twins, and was a prayer warrior for the R.E.C. prison ministries at Dartmouth.

Peg cared not only for her family, but also for a number of foster children. For many years, she lovingly opened her heart and home to children of working mothers. Her gifts were many but most important to her was that of giving and loving her children and all who came into her life.

Survivors include her husband; her father; 6 sons, Joseph Reardon, Jeremiah Reardon and his wife Pam, Edward Reardon and his wife Lisa, and Sean Reardon and his wife Tanya Cofresi, all of Dartmouth, Brian Reardon of Boston, and Matthew Reardon and his wife Victoria, of Eagle River, Alaska; 2 daughters, Christine McFee and her husband Rory, of Mattapoisett and Alexis Reardon of Dartmouth; a brother, Edward Logue of Waltham; 4 sisters, Ellen Tedesco of Treasure Island, Fla., Ann Marie Patterson of Roslindale, Kathleen Fennell of Mansfield, and Maureen Spognardi of Norwood; 2 grandchildren, Sofia Isabel Cofresi Reardon and Madison Lynn Reardon; 5 stepgrandchildren, Ryan, Carly, and Sean McFee, Randy Parker and Jake Hebert; and many nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late baby Jeremiah J. Reardon.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 12, 2002 at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Sunday August 11, 2002 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Birthright of New Bedford, 398 County St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
