Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Sally Ann (Reed) Stanley of Medway, Massachusetts. Surrounded by her family, Sally passed away on December 13th at the age of 76.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Robert; her sons, Jason Reed Stanley and his wife Alison of Holliston and Christopher Reed Stanley and his wife Aimee of Framingham, and her beloved grandchildren Jaelyn, Sawyer, Brody and Lila, as well as numerous friends.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Sue Buckhout of South Windsor, CT, Richard Reed of Claremont, Florida, and Frederic Reed of Baldwinsville, New York. She was the sister of the late David Reed.

Born in Glen Cove, New York on March 3, 1946, the daughter of the late Frederick and Pauline (Lane) Reed, Sally was raised in Glen Head, New York and lived in Wenonah, New Jersey for 13 years before moving to Medway 34 years ago.

Sally graduated from the Pratt Institute with a B.A. in Fine Arts, where her fashion talents were recognized as a recipient of the 1968 Native Design-In award.

A gifted designer and seamstress, Sally pursued her dream and launched her own business “Something Always Special” where she designed and sewed custom wedding dresses, bridal gowns, flower dresses, and accessories for many, including her own daughters-in-law. Before retiring, Sally was an Executive Assistant for the TJX Corporation for ten years.

She enjoyed baking and cooking meals for her family and friends. Her hobbies were varied to include: playing tennis, golfing, needlepoint, sewing, and meeting her friends for coffee and lunch.

Recently, she spent most weekends watching her grandkids play sports and attending their plays and competitions. She was fondly referred to as “Soccer Sal” by many parents who met her through the years on the soccer sidelines.
She was known for her beautiful smile, ready laugh and great personality. To know Sally-was to love her.
