Charles A. Williams, 76

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Charles A. Williams, age 76, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Faith E. (West) Williams, to whom he was wed on August 30, 1968.

Born in Boston, MA on May 14, 1946, he was a loving son of the late Philip and Helen (McLoud) Williams.

Charlie grew up in Framingham, was a 1965 graduate of Framingham South High School and continued his studies, earning a bachelor’s degree from UMass Boston.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Williams had worked for the telephone company, a career that spanned forty years. He began when the company operated under the name of New England Telephone and retired with the position of a Central Office Technician when the company later became Verizon.

Charlie had made his home in Mansfield for the past thirty-eight years and treasured the times spent with his adoring family. He received much pleasure vacationing in Saratoga, New York and enjoying the scenic beauty of the Cape Cod Canal. At the time of his sudden passing, he was eagerly anticipating the birth of his second grandchild.

In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-four years, he is survived by his devoted daughters: Stephanie L. Buckley and her husband Kevin of Attleboro and Kristen L. Williams and her spouse Elise Jeanmaire of Providence, RI. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Vivian West Buckley. He was the dear brother of John Williams and his wife Lynne of Marlboro, David Williams and his wife Martha of South Dennis, the late Martha Williams and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, December 20th from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Service and burial will be private and in lieu of flowers, Charlie’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Oncology Department, 211 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
