Scott Lee Prior, 83, of Tewksbury, passed away on Friday morning, December 9th, at The Blair House in Tewksbury. He was the widower of the late Linda (Mossenrgren) Prior who passed away in February of 2011.
A son of the late Ronald Prior and the late Opal (Young) Prior, he was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Estherville, Iowa. After graduating high school he attended Iowa State in Ames, Iowa and upon graduation he relocated to England. He lived in England from 1964 until 1968 gaining real world experience as a landscape architect. He eventually came back to the United States, settling in Boston where he finished his formal education with a masters degree in urban planning from Harvard University.
He worked as a landscape architect for over 20 years throughout New England. Later in life worked as real estate developer for about 15 years before his retirement. He was a golf fan and in his spare time he loved gardening.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Warren and her husband, Stephen, of Littleton and Todd Prior and his wife, Debbie, of Temple Georgia, his grandchildren, Kerri Warren and Leanne Warren, Meagan Galvin and her husband, Paul, Deirdre Prior, Sophie Prior and Ben Prior, his great granddaughter, Riley Galvin and his siblings, Wayne Prior of Madison, WI, Rick Prior and his wife, Debbie, of Grainger, Iowa, and Ronene Shelton and her husband, Paul, of Oakton, Virginia.
There will be a private service on Wednesday December 14, at 11 a.m. at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree, MA.
