Obituary

WEBSTER – Bernard A. Swierzbin, 94, formerly of Spring St., died Friday, May 26, in Sunbridge for Sandalwood, Oxford. His wife of 46 years, Nellie B. (Majka) Swierzbin, died in 1980.

He leaves a daughter, Barbara J. Motyka of Webster, with whom he lived; a brother, Edward J. Swierzbin and his wife Anne of Beverly Hills, FL; 2 grandchildren, Deborah M. Rosati and her husband Michael of Melrose, and Robert A. Motyka and his wife Patti of Lunenburg; 4 great grandchildren, Marcus, Alex, Daniel and Katie; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

He was born in Webster, a son of Alexander and Lucy (Zywicki) Swierzbin, and lived here all his life.

Mr. Swierzbin was a puller at Bates Shoe Company and then at Sandlerette Footwear, retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Joseph Basilica and its Sacred Heart Society.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 31, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 9:15 to 10:15 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570
