FALL RIVER… Stephen P. Arpa, age 75, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Stephen was born in Fall River, MA to the late Peter C. Arpa and the late Gladys (Warnett) Cote. He was the beloved husband of Michelle (Rapoza) Arpa. Mr. Apra lived most of his life in the city.
Mr. Arpa served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked as a truck driver for Toro Van Lines. He was involved in his community in many ways, volunteering with Citizens for Citizens in their food pantry and Operation Christmas. Stephen was also a past Commander of VFW Post 486, serving on the war council as well as the entertainment committee.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: sons, Gary Pires and Peter Arpa, both of Fall River; daughters, Paula Ferriera and Chrystal Arpa, both of Fall River; brother, Arty Lampham of Wareham, MA; sister, Barbara Arpa of New Bedford, MA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his children, the late Stephen Arpa, Jr., the late Kevin Pires, the late Stacy Arpa Souza; and siblings, the late Michael Arpa, the late Gary Arpa, and the late Sandra Ouellette.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 12 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10 AM to 12 PM. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
