Geraldine “Jeri” S. Burnett, 90 of South Boston, MA, passed peacefully, on December 9, 2022. Ms. Burnett was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Burnett of South Boston, MA, and her Most-Treasured Grandson Joshua D. Perkins of South Boston, MA, Maynard, MA, and Pittsfield, ME. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Darlene M. Dowdy of Acton MA, Laureen S. Dowdy of South Boston, MA, Marc Godwin of South Boston, MA, and her much-loved, loyal and loving friend Michelle Allix of South Boston, MA.
Jeri worked at the Gillette Company, starting as a machine-operator and retiring many years later as a blade inspector. Her passions were animals, music, dancing, and traveling. She was a constant advocate for animal rights as well as a generous donator to charities she held close to her heart. Jeri’s quick wit, sense of fun, and generous, quirky spirit will be deeply missed and forever be remembered with love.
Visiting hours will be from 10 am – 12pm on December 15, 2022 at Casper Funeral Home, and Graveside Funeral Services will be held that afternoon at 1pm at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, MA.
In keeping with Jeri’s most-generous spirit, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MSPCA or the Marian Manor of South Boston’s activities fund.
