Obituary

Harry L. Grinnell, Sr., 77, of New Bedford died May 26, 2006 at home.
He was the husband of Michelle C. (Brennan) Grinnell.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Robert E. and Marion F. (Sheedy) Grinnell, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Grinnell was employed as a bus monitor with Tremblay Bus Company and previously was a carpenter in the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Grinnell was an avid golfer, card player at the Driving Club at Ronnie's Cafe, and enjoyed the company of his dog Fred.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Harry Grinnell, Jr., and his wife Leasa, of Fairhaven; 3 daughters, Sunny Dean of Pahrump, Nevada, Lynn Perreault and Kathryn Grinnell, both of New Bedford; a sister, Roberta Everett, and her husband Robert, of Fairhaven; 8 grandchildren, Heather, Daniel, Meaghan, Duane, Arthur, Christopher, Jason and Jordan; 2 great-grandchildren, Justin and Alyssa; his former wife, Carol Grinnell, of Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews, special cousins.
He was the brother of the late Robert Grinnell, Richard Grinnell and James Grinnell-Thorn.
Visiting hours Tuesday, May 30th from 4-7 PM with a Funeral Service at 7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
