Obituary




Hung Van Tran, 76, of Worcester passed away peacefully in his home Monday, December 5th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Vietnam, Hung Tran immigrated to the United States in 1979, laying down roots in the home that has been with the family for since 1982. He had a passion for fishing, gardening and always cherished his time with family and friend. Hung was a member of Our Lady of Vilna.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Tot Thi Tran; his children, Ke Van Tran of Webster, Au Van Tran of Worcester, Lai Thi Tran of Glendale, Arizona, and Phung Van Tran with whom he lived; his adoptive son, Tuan Le Hoang of Worcester. He also leaves a sister, Thu Thi Tran of Worcester; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Two children predeceased him, An Van Tran and Dep Thi Tran.
His funeral will be held Monday, December 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 153 Sterling Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. Calling hours are Sunday, December 11th from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In remembrance of Hung Tran’s life and in lieu of flowers, proceeds from personal intentions will be distribute to various charitable organizations.
In conclusion, our family would like to invite everyone returning to Our Lady of Vilna Church after the burial to share a meal and celebrate Hung Tran’s life with the family.
