Victor Jose George
August 16,1962-December 4,2022
Known for his big smile and even bigger heart, Victor Jose George left behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, humor, and love when he returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 4, 2022, after complications from recent back surgery.
Victor was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 16, 1962, a son of Enrique Henry and Manuela (Lopez) George. He was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage.
Victor fell in love and married his sweetheart, Yolanda Flowers, December 22, 1999 in Manhattan, New York and would have been married 24 years later this month.
Victor and Yolanda loved spending time together exploring the local sights and enjoying their movie nights every Friday. He cherished his time spent in Puerto Rico where he spent many days at the beach.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and he had a deep love for his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. As is stated in John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Victor was always putting others needs before his own.
Survived by his loving wife, Yolanda, mother Manuela (Lopez) George, his brothers- Mariano George and Ralph George and daughter- Sharene George. He also helped raise Yolanda’s children- Ieesha, Renee, Jewell, Cecila and Jonel. He was the proud grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Victor is preceded in death by his father, Enrique Henry George, sister Maria George and brothers- Henry George, Jimmy George.
Known as a gentle giant by all who loved him, Victor's full life-is a testament to his wit, integrity, and kindness. He will be forever loved, celebrated, and missed.
Services will be held for family and friends Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Poitras Funeral Home in Buxton, Maine.
Victor’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a celebration of life for Victor on December 12, 2022.
