Obituary

Mildred (Avey) Halleran died peacefully, December 4th, 2022, at Port Healthcare Center, with loving care from Care Dimensions Hospice, in Newburyport, at the age of 97. Mildred, formally of Medford, was the loving wife of the late Paul Halleran, and devoted mother of Sandy Arciero, Judy Murphy, Nadine Andon, Paul Halleran, Jr., and the late Craig Halleran.

Mimi was a loving grandmother to Jeffrey Arciero, Alisha Matthews, Darren Arciero, Sean Murphy and Matt Andon, and an adoring great grandmother to eight. Mimi was a dear sister of the late Francis Avey, Dorris Ferris, Bernard Avey, Beatrice Hayes, Claire Pero, Corrine Jackson, Lorraine Hopper and Albert Avey.

Mildred loved politics, The Boston Globe, old movies and reading biographies. She enjoyed her friends from Metcalf Street, Roberts Road, and Belmont Sport, and especially liked trips to casinos. Mildred was a stylish dresser and was not opposed to an occasional CC and Ginger. Mimi was an exceptional parent to her special needs son, Craig. She advocated for him and facilitated his connections to education, jobs, friends, and activities. Mimi ensured he had a wonderful life.
