Obituary

Stanley Steven Lacka, 79, of 10 Bob White Lane, South Dennis MA passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA surrounded by close family.

Stan was born March 11th 1943 in York Pennsylvania, preceded in death by parents Stanley Lacka Sr. and Dominica (Terrasi) Lacka-Allen (both of Cochituate), and brother David Lacka (of Lunenburg). Stan is survived by his loving, caring wife of 44 years, Paula (Glynn) Lacka, his daughters Sherry Jones (of Dennis), her husband Aaron, Carri (Lacka) Thompson-Noyes (of Maynard), Marcy (Lacka) Subilosky (of Hudson) and his beloved grandchildren, Shelby Jones, Megan Thompson, and Tyler and Daniel Subilosky. He has many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, including his brother’s daughter, Gwen (Lacka) Casey, her husband Chris and their 2 daughters, along with many cousins.

Stan attended Wayland High School and was a member of the United States Air Force for 3 years. In his younger years he loved to ride his Harley (“the louder the better” he would say), tinker on his trucks and jeeps, and would often be seen on Nauset Beach Oceanside every weekend with his family and friends. Later in life, Stan loved to spend his time on the golf course, tend to his beautiful lush lawn and spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren. Stan was a hard working mechanic, truck driver and dispatcher for many years and taught his children how important it was to have a good work ethic.

A celebration of life to remember and honor Stan will be scheduled at a later date.

Should anyone want to make a donation in Stan’s name, memorial contributions may be made to the
American Lung Association at American Lung Association Tribute Gift.
