Irene D. Brien, 68 of 600 Lydia Ave. Woonsocket died Thursday in RI Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rene G. Brien. Mrs Brien was born in Webster MA a daughter of the late William and Mary (Kurzawa) Pepka. Mrs. Brien was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons Scott L. Brien of Cumberland and State Rep. and Woonsocket Police Det. Todd R. Brien of Woonsocket, two daughters Donna LaForge of N. Smithfield and Kelly Jalette of Mapleville, a sister Evelyn “Pat” Fox of Webster, MA, and six grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late William and John Pepka, Dorothy McAvoy, Nancy Pizzetti, Lorraine Gagnon, and Rita Johnson.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
