Doris M. (Soucy) Allen, age 92, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at her home in the care of her family and hospice on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of Paul E. Allen, Sr., who passed away in 2002.
Born in Lowell on March 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Leo Soucy and the late Annette (Beauchesne) Soucy.
Doris was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School.
Prior to retiring, Doris and her late husband owned and operated the former Allen’s Disposal Company and Allen Coal Company previously located in South Tewksbury.
Doris enjoyed playing cards and traveling to the casinos in Las Vegas as well as the Foxwoods Resort & Casino.
She was a life member of the Tewksbury Senior Center, where she participated in numerous activities and enjoyed the companionship of her many friends.
Doris was the mother of Paul E. Allen, Jr., of Tewksbury, Brian E. Allen and his wife Susan, of Nashua, NH, the late Bruce Allen and his surviving wife Debbie, of Derry, NH, and the late Linda M. Schettino. She was the sister of Kenneth Soucy, of Lowell, Elaine Bonenfant and her husband Edward, of Haverhill, and Michelle Golden and her husband Frank, of Dracut. She leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren and dear friends, including Dolly Francoise, of Tewksbury and her late husband Sonny, Grace Santo, of Wilmington and her late husband Frank, Lenny and Linda Bolton, of Tewksbury, and the late Cliff and Kay Bolton. Doris also leaves her much loved dog, “Teddy”.
Doris was the grandmother of the late Wayne L. Allen, who passed away in 2005
At her request, there were no services. Interment was held at Tewksbury Cemetery.
