Obituary

CHELMSFORD- Elaine Perry Ciccolella, a longtime resident of Andover, Tewksbury and Chelmsford, passed away at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022, following a short-term illness.

She was the beloved wife of Domenic J. Ciccolella (Late) of Tewksbury with whom she shared a beautiful life of 22 years.

Born in Lowell on April 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Efthemios Gemos and Anna (Economou) Gemos.

Elaine was an Honors Graduate of Lowell High School (1952) and received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Education from Lesley College Cambridge in 1956. She worked very happily for many years as a grade schoolteacher and special education specialist in schools throughout New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington State. Locally, Elaine taught at the Hellenic American School/Academy in Lowell from 1972 through 1981, in addition to the Andover and Tewksbury Public School systems. She loved her students, their families and her role in the Hellenic Community of Lowell as well as all the school systems in which she taught, earning many awards and achievements. Elaine’s greatest joy in life resided in her love and devotion to her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchild, her family, friends and neighbors, who will all miss her kind devotion, wonderful sense of humor, her “Greek Mother” cooking and warm affable presence each and every day. She will be greatly missed…

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Lisa E. Blackburn and son-in-law David Blackburn of Salisbury, MA; her son, Christopher T. Perry and daughter-in-law Victoria A. Perry and grandson Winston Oliver Hazard Perry, III, of Chelmsford, MA; her beloved grandson, Andrew J. Perry, his wife Michelle Perry and beloved Great Grandson, John Joshua Perry of Newmarket, NH; sister, Lee Moylan of Conyers, GA; Sister-in law Susan Gemos of Lowell; along with many cousins, beloved nieces and nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Dorothea Tsapatsaris, and James Gemos of Lowell, and sister-in-law of the late George N. Tsapatsaris of Lowell and William P. “Duke” Moylan of Conyers, GA.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their final respects on Friday December 2, 2022, from 9:00–11:00 AM at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediate followed by services to be held in the funeral home and interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
