Obituary

DUDLEY -Bernard M. Albetski, 99, died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 56 years, Mary E. (Murolo) Albetski, died in 2001.

He leaves 2 daughters, Elaine M. Martin and her husband George with whom he lived, and Bernice G. Hicks and her husband James F. Hicks, III of Erie, CO; 4 grandchildren, Sharlene Martin, David Martin, Dawn Szacik and Jennifer Hicks; and 2 great grandchildren, Adam Martin and Amanda Martin; and a brother Leo Albetski and his wife Harriett of Florida. He was preceded in death by his son Norman Albetski and by his daughter Janet Szacik who both died in 2014. He was also predeceased by his brothers: Clarence Belanger, Ernest Albetski, Alfred Albetski, George Albetski, William Albetski, Emile Albetski and Donald Albetski.

He was born on January 30, 1923 in Webster son of John and Alma (Provost) Albetski. He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked at American Optical Company in Southbridge until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends and was a member of both the Webster and Dudley Senior Centers. Bernard and Mary enjoyed traveling in their retirement years.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Tri Valley, Inc. 10 Mill St, Dudley, MA 01571. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
