James P. Buccieri, “Jimmy the Baker”, age 74 of Boston's North End, passed away Thursday, May 25th at the North End Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Anna J. (Manganiello). Born in Boston he was the son of Angelina (Pio) Buccieri and the late Anthony Buccieri Sr.
Mr. Buccieri was a life long resident of Boston's North End and served in the Unites States Army during the Korean War. He worked as baker from the age of eleven until his retirement. He worked for many years in the family bakery, the A. Buccieri & Sons Bakery formerly of the North End, and also worked for seventeen years with Stop & Shop Co., baking and cooking. Mr. Buccieri enjoyed cooking and being surrounded by his loving family. He was also a passionate New York Yankee Fan!
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children; Anthony and his wife Patti of Medford, Angela Passacantilli and her husband Robert of Medford, Vincent of the North End, Paul and his wife Dawn of Winthrop. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Gianna, Anthony Jr., Robert, Patrice, Christopher, Dominique, and Demitria. He is further survived by his brother Sonny Buccieri and sisters Annemarie Arsenault and Josephine Pepicelli all of Medford and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers John and Anthony Buccieri Jr.
Funeral From the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the North End Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 70 Fulton St. Boston, MA 02109
