Hilda H. “Sherry” (Morris) Margeson, 93, of Dartmouth passed away Thursday November 24, 2022 at Our Lady’s Haven after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Rose) Morris, she resided in New Bedford, Fairhaven, and Dartmouth.
Hilda was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at Bank of Boston until her retirement.
A gifted vocalist, Hilda sang professionally for several years as a young woman. She also enjoyed singing at the senior citizen events along with the band, in her church choir growing up, and also in the Christmas Cantatas at the International Church of the Nazarene. In addition to singing, Hilda loved to dance, make floral arrangements, and took great pride in her appearance. Hilda especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Margeson, Steven Margeson and his wife Michelle, and Barry Margeson; five grandchildren, Angela Briggs and her husband Stephen, Roxanne Pepe and her husband John, Jessica Gomes and her companion George Mead, Joel Monty and his companion Savannah Rodriguez, and Heather Ross and her husband Tim; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Morgan, Carly, Mia, Lilah, Harmony, and Sofia; two nieces and a nephew.
She was the sister of the late David Morris.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday November 29th at 6 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford, with visitation at Church from 4:30-6 PM prior to the service.
