Lochmere-Christine P. Colby, 65, of 65 Ashuelot Drive died Friday morning, May 26, 2006 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Christine was born in Saco, Maine, on October 3, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Arthur G. Miner and Mary (Riddell) Miner-Simpson. She had been a resident of Lochmere since 1980 coming from Laconia.
Christine was employed by New Hampshire Ball Bearing for 25 years as a Shipping Clerk prior to her retirement due to illness. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 1 in Laconia. Christine loved gardening and enjoyed making flower arrangements.
Christine was predeceased by one sister, Sandra M. Burt in 2000.
Christine is survived by her husband of 35 years, Leroy A. Colby, Jr. of Lochmere, two daughters, Julie A. Dufault and her husband Ken of Merrimack, NH and Susan L. Swanson of Belmont, NH, two step-daughters, Lisa A. Colby of Gilford, NH, and Sandra J. Jenot of Franklin, NH, three brothers, Glenn Miner of West Haven, CT, and Michael Miner of New Haven, CT, and Henry Simpson of Stratford, CT, one sister, Annie Simpson-Edgerton of Yarmouth, ME. Three grandchildren, Jamie and Andrew Dufault, and Tishara Hart-Ali, and two great grandchildren, Hailey Dufault, and Anistatia Ali also survive Christine.
Visiting hours were held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. A Funeral Service was held at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home on Wednesday May 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Michael C. Graham, pastor of Gilford Community Church officiated. Burial followed in the family lot at Village Cemetery, Route 3, Meredith, NH. Family and friends were invited to attend.
