Obituary

SOUTH HADLEY – Carole V. (Majka) Dubuc, 79, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. She entered into Eternal Life unexpectedly at Holyoke Medical Center and joined her loving son, David, with the Angels in the Eternal City of Heaven. She was born in Holyoke on May 25, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late Walter and Veronica (Perkowski) Majka. She was raised in South Hadley, graduated from South Hadley High School and had lived in South Hadley her entire life. She furthered her education and graduated from the Cooley Dickinson Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and had worked at the Offices of Doctors O’Malley, Ferguson and Smith in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Theresa of Lisieux Church in South Hadley and was a member of the Cooley Dickinson Alumni Association, the Polish Women’s Alliance of America and was a former member of the Redcliffe Canoe Club in South Hadley. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and soul mate, Michael J. Dubuc. They were married on May 30, 1968 at Saint Patrick Church in South Hadley and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving sister and best friend, Jane Golob of South Hadley; her two cherished nieces, Pamela Pershing of Port Charlotte, FL and Debra Whalen of Chalfont, PA; her cherished nephew, Michael Pershing and his wife, Tammy, of Port Charlotte, FL; her dear friends, James and Jeanne Allen of Westfield and Jane Winnie of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and her many dear friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving son, David M. Dubuc who was Called Home on June 10, 2016; her beloved father in law and mother in law, Valmore “Red” Dubuc and his wife, Grace (Kelliher) Dubuc; and her dear sister in law, Beverly Pershing. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Theresa of Lisieux Church, 9 East Parkview Drive, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road (Route 202), South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
