Obituary

Jane (Meehan) Thomas, 97, passed away on November 21, 2022 at the Atrium in North Chelmsford. Jane was married to Robert J Thomas, Sr who passed away in 2000. In 1999 they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Jane was born in Lowell on August 12, 1925 to Dr Patrick J Meehan and Veronica (Rediker) Meehan. Jane was educated in Lowell schools including St Peter’s grammar school and Lowell High School and she attended Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Jane and Bob had six children. They resided with their family in Lawrence, Massachusetts and then lived for many years in Hudson, New Hampshire.

Jane was best known for her positive outlook on life. She sincerely saw the best in everyone and never hesitated to let the people around her know how great they were. She was an incredible positive force and saw it as her mission to provide help and support to others.

Jane is survived by her six children; Patricia and Andrew Moysenko of Chelmsford, MA, Kathleen and John Gilfeather of Westford, MA, Robert and Ruth Thomas of Zephyrhills, FL, Maureen Thomas of Lawrence, MA, Raymond and Karen Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ and Laurence and Michele Thomas of Cornelius, NC.
Jane leaves her seven grandchildren: Kristen Moysenko, Kerry Higginbotham, Kevin Gilfeather, Kelly Allbee, Stephanie Avienu, Lisa Thomas and Patricia Thomas. She also leaves fourteen great grandchildren.
Jane was predeceased by her parents and her five sisters: Carmen Sanders, Patrice Meehan, Lorraine Jordan, Rosemarie Tavares, and Ruth Meehan.

Jane’s family would like to express their appreciation for the staff at the Atrium at Drum Hill and Amedisys Hospice for their care and support over this past year.

On Tuesday, November 29, 2022 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 3 - 7 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. On Wednesday morning her funeral will begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack, Street, Lowell.
