Margaret Barnes Gibbs, 78, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Zion Hope Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Cory Hand and the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Mrs. Gibbs will be laid to rest at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Zion Hope Baptist Church in Tifton from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born March 5, 1944, in Irwin County, Mrs. Gibbs was the daughter of the late Lewis Gip Barnes, Jr. and Eula Mae Whiddon Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Austin “Bobby” Gibbs. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Gibbs is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam and John Ethridge and Karen and Clay Griffin, all of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred K. and Jeanelle Barnes and Eugene L. and Shirley Barnes, all of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Savanah and Joshua Love, Harper and Michael Evans, Coleman Griffin, Mikaela Griffin and Will McCranie; and three great-grandsons, Lincoln, Oliver and Silas Love.
