Elizabeth C. (Allen) Barry of Stoughton formerly of Dedham, died May 25, 2006 at the Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. She was 84. Mrs. Barry was born in Newton in 1921 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Jeanette (Schmidt) Allen. She was a Dedham resident for 30 years before moving to Stoughton, where she lived for over 20 years. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs College and worked as an administrative Assistant for the Factory Mutual Insurance Company of Norwood. After she retired, Mrs. Barry remained very active in the local community. She was a member of the Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood, the Dedham Catholic Women’s Club and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Barry. She was the devoted mother of Carol A. Lyons and her husband John of Springfield, Janice A. Zaccardo and her husband Richard of Kensington, CT, Donna M. Barry of New Boston, NH, Diane E. MacMillan and her husband Paul of Needham and James W. Barry and his wife Denise of Holliston. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Wednesday at 8:00 AM. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
