Obituary

Daniel Ray "Danny" Barker, 74, of Anderson died unexpectedly at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Anderson on November 19, 2022.

He was born on April 26, 1948 in Hamilton, Ohio to Paul Barker Sr. and Anna Mae (Wallace) Barker. He was a 1966 graduate of Madison Heights High School. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as a pipe fitter at Delco Remy for 42 years and retired in 2009. His last three years he worked at Allison Transmission. He was an expert gardener, Cincinnati Reds fan, loved classic cars and history. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane (Johnson) Barker; his mother, Anna Mae (Wallace) Barker; two children, Julie Barker (Tim Gladney) Boling and Leslie Barker (Boris A. Zhukov) McGehee; three siblings, Paul "Joe" Barker, Sandra (Tom) Swanson, and Steve (Sharon) Barker; two grandchildren, Jesse Wilhoite and Dane Boling; three great-grandchildren, Layla Rooks, Lila Rooks, and Gauge Wilhoite; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, lots of close friends and his beloved cat, Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Barker Sr. and a brother, Bruce Barker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Animal Protection League or Madison County Humane Society.
