Alice E. "Betty" (Lawton) Potter, 86, of New Bedford died Novemner 14, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Daniel C. Potter.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Ernest and Lydia (Nye) Lawton, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed by Beneficial Finance and later was a cashier at Sears until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, and going on vacation and drives with her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Thibodeau and her husband Butch of New Bedford; a cousin, George Lawton of Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren, Steven Kelly, Kristy Vieira and her husband Joseph and Craig McGregor; 6 great-grandchildren, Cheyanna Vieira, Britany Kelly, Courtney Kelly, Hayden Kelly, Joey Vieira and Juniper McGregor; 2 great-grandchildren, Stella and Penelope; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John Lawton.
Her visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 26th from 2-5 PM with a prayer service at 2:30 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
