Vincent F. Botti, 81

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.

Vincent F. Botti, age 81, of Middletown, Rhode Island and Naples, Florida, formerly of Mansfield, Massachusetts. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Newport Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of MaryAnn (Piccoli) Botti, to whom he was wed on January 11, 1963.

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Frank and Florence (Aiello) Botti. As leader in the retail mass merchandising field, he started his career with JM Fields, working as a stock boy fulltime while attending Rutgers University. In 1963 he married the love of his life in Berlin, New Jersey. He worked for Zayre from 1967-1991, moving and opening new stores along the east coast. Finally, they settled down in Mansfield where he opened the distribution center as CEO for the east coast. During the 90’s, Vince worked for Ames and Jamesway before a brief retirement. He left retirement to help J.L. Hammett launch their stand-alone retail stores.

Retired yet again, spending his days working with his wife at Sweet N’Crafty, which MaryAnn operated in downtown Mansfield from 1983-2014. Vince was always active in real-estate and continued this throughout his life. He enjoyed the ocean, fishing, horseshoes, bocce, music and was an enthusiastic gardener.

Along with his wife they volunteered with different organizations throughout his life, while in Mansfield he was very active in the community and St. Mary’s Parish. While in Naples he continued his volunteerism and became an active community member and was the president of the board at Village Green, for over 10 years. Vince was a kind and generous man that helped so many individuals in their time of need or despair, freely and quietly without expectation.

Above all Vince was devoted to his family and cherished time with them. Survived by his wife and best friend MaryAnn of 59 years; daughters and their partners; RoseMary & Joe, Florence & Mike. He was the very proud grandfather to Jessica & Adam, James & Brooke, Kevin, Ava, Madisyn and adored his great-grandchildren Julian and Siena.

Extended family incudes, sisters Virginia, Margert and husband Luis, brother Frank and partner Kathy, brother-in-law Frank, sister-in law Virginia, brother-in law Robert and his wife Terri. He was predeceased by his sister Francie and brother-in-law Johnny. He was blessed with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 2nd from 4:00-8:00 at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield, Massachusetts.


His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, December 3rd at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
