Mark Allen Preece, 64, of Derry, NH, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2022, at his home. He was born on June 9, 1958 in Athol, MA, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Jane (Richards) Vorce. Mark was raised in Orange, MA and graduated from Mahar Regional High School. He later received his Associate’s Degree from Greenfield Community College.
In his early years, Mark worked in Boston at numerous restaurants and businesses. He transitioned to sales and worked for several New England companies, eventually retiring from Heartland Payment Systems in 2005. Mark enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard and tinkering in his shop. Mark enjoyed his cabin in Maine, was a member of the Burnt Meadow Snowmobile Club and a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Aside from the love he had for his family, Mark loved animals. It was rare to see Mark without a dog close by.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sheila (Mulholland) Preece, two sons, Alex Preece and wife Kaylee, Connor Preece and wife Alyssa; and one daughter, Maggie Coppola and husband Rick; five grandchildren, Maisie, Vinny, Charlie, Ada Jane, and one impending arrival any day; five brothers, Kevin Preece, Michael Preece and wife Jeannette, Colin Preece and wife Annette, Shawn Preece and wife Joye, and Dan Preece and wife Joanie; two sisters, Mary Stoddard and husband David and Claire Barrie and husband Don; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by five of his siblings, Brian, Kathy, Paula, Joan and Margaret.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Christian Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
