Obituary

Mary G. (Brown) McCabe of South Natick, 97, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 following a period of declining health.
She was born in West Roxbury on July 9, 1925 the daughter of the late James Henry Brown and Jeanie (Ramsay) Brown.
Mary was the loving wife of the late John H. McCabe, Jr who died in November 1991.
She was the beloved mother of Jeanne Methot and her late husband Steve of Cornelius, NC, Nancy Wood and her husband Chuck of Franklin, Elizabeth Palmer and her husband Lee of South Natick, John McCabe and his wife Ann of Canton and Anne Hughes and her husband Steve of Pembroke. Cherished grandmother of Alexandra Methot; Christopher Methot; Heather Trudeau; Jeffrey Lane; Michael Lane; Stephen Hughes; Victoria Hughes; John McCabe, IV, and Joseph McCabe. Great grandmother of Kerrianne Fagan, Sarah Trudeau, Juliana Trudeau and Violet Trudeau. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Jeanie Gaudet, Anna Brown, Esther Wieher, Helen Kentley, James Brown and Sylvia Cotton.
Mary spent most of her life in Roslindale where she and Jack raised their family. In 1998, she moved to South Natick to be closer to family.
She was a graduate of Roslindale High School with the Class of 1942. Mary retired after many years as a Secretary at the Madison Park High School in Boston.
Mary loved to spend her summers on Balch Lake in Newfield, Maine and her winters with her daughter Beth and son-in-law Lee in Naples, Florida.
She loved to watch and feed the birds in her backyard in South Natick and to be sure the bird feeders were always full. Her proudest accomplishment was the devotion and love she had for her family. She will be greatly missed and loved by all of her family and friends and fondly remembered.
Visitations will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 am until Noon followed by a Prayer Service at Noon at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland.
Interment in Holyhood Cemetery will be private for her family only.
