Salem
Gloria E. (Marcaurelle) Gagnon, 84, a former resident of Salem, passed away at the Brudnick Center for Living on Sunday, November 13, 2022 following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the devoted wife of the late George R. Gagnon with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Lucienne (Soucy) Marcaurelle. A graduate of Ste. Anne School and Essex Agricultural School, Gloria first worked for the former CBS Hytron in Salem. During her married years, she worked for Unitrode, also in Salem. But Gloria’s favorite work was for BJ’s in Danvers where she was a food products demonstrator.
Gloria loved her family and people in general. She was chatty and fun loving by nature. A lifelong resident of the Castle Hill section she loved the holidays and the Castle Hill tradition of ‘decking’ out the house. Gloria was also a lifelong member of Ste. Anne Parish where she participated in their fund raising and social events and, especially their Holiday Fair.
Gloria leaves several Marcaurelle & Soucy cousins, several Gagnon nieces and nephews, and her friends. She was predeceased by her brother Philip Marcaurelle.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from (9:00 to 10:45 AM to be followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
