Obituary

DUDLEY – Dorothy V. (Baker) Nachajko, 94, died in Care One at Millbury after an illness. Her husband of 55 years, Matthew C. “Mitch” Nachajko died in 2001.

She leaves 2 sons, Lt. Col. (ret) Gary P. Nachajko and his wife Charlotte of Huntsville, AL, and Mark W. Nachajko of Webster; 3 daughters, Donna M. Galonek and her husband John of Charlton, Tamara A. Allen and her husband Barry of Naples, FL, and Wendy R. Ritacco and her husband Alan of West Boylston; 5 grandchildren, Heidi Feldser, John J. Galonek, Megan Haughton, Matthew Nachajko and Gregory Nachajko; 6 great-grandchildren, Noah and Ryan Feldser, Jacob and Joshua Galonek, and Riley and Taylor Haughton; a brother, Donald Baker and his wife Pilar of Florida; a sister, Joyce Duff and her husband Omer of Dayville, CT. She was preceded in death by her brother Roger Baker.

She was born on December 4, 1927 in Westerly, RI a daughter of Henry and Viola (Benoit) Baker. She was raised in Putnam, CT and moved to Dudley at the time of her marriage.

Mrs. Nachajko worked for 21 years as a secretary for the Apostolate of Healing run by Fr. Ralph DiOrio. She then worked as a secretary for Home Town Properties in Putnam from 2001 until her retirement in 2008.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to Alaska. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 16, from Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A period of visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the funeral home prior to Mass. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
