Roger was born in Whitinsville, son of the late Roger R. and Eugenie (Metivier) Marchand and is also predeceased by two brothers, Robert N. Marchand Sr. and Paul Marchand.

Roger graduated from the former Worcester Boy’s Trade High School in Worcester and worked his entire 54-year career with the Sears and Roebuck Company retiring in 2012 as a maintenance supervisor. He had a strong work ethic and encouraged others to be reliable and take pride in their work.

Roger was a member of Saint John’s Church in Worcester and previously belonged to Holy Name of Jesus Parish where he volunteered for many years in countless capacities including as the CYC Coordinator and a volunteer at bingo. Roger dedicated 35 years to the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster. Roger and his wife Florence had been active in the Engaged Encounter community for many years and touched countless couples preparing for marriage by presenting weekends and coordinating behind the scenes.
