Born January 8, 1930, in Clara, Mississippi, Mrs. Russell was the daughter of the late Sim Davis and Vada Brewer Davis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Jones; her second husband, Bill Russell; two sons, Ken Jones and Ronny Jones; three grandchildren, Burley Jones, Angel Jones and Russell Finch; three sisters; and one brother. Before retiring, she worked at Herschede Hill Clock Company in Mississippi.
She loved her children (especially Ronny) but all of us were special to her. She was a very, very special mama.
She loved to keep her house and car clean and neat as a pin all the time; she loved her coffee in the afternoon; she loved to go dancing on weekends; she loved to sew and create beautiful ceramics; she loved to sing with her sisters around the old piano; she loved gospel music and going to church; and she also loved her soap operas.
Mrs. Russell is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sheila Finch of Columbus, Mississippi and Pat and Danny Thompson of Adel; one son, Billy Russell of Tifton; five grandchildren, Paige Brewer, Joe Thompson, Jill Crumley, Victoria Adams and Amber Russell; and six great-grandchildren, Kaleb Jones, Addielynn Marie Finch, Autumn Griner, Dani Crumley, Kade Crumley and Jasper Thompson.
