Obituary

Jason Paul DeMarzi, of Wrentham Ma passed away on November 6, 2022. Jason was born on December 3, 1977 in Newton, MA. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Janice (Johnston) Demarzi of Wrentham and his girlfriend Erica Gottberg of Wrentham, and their cherished son Anthony Paul.

He grew up and attended his early school years in Wrentham, Ma and then continued on to Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI and graduated from Bryant University in 2000 with a BS in Business Administration.

During his high school and college summers years, Jason worked at Astro Auto in Franklin and also at Florentina Restaurant. He enjoyed watching the chef cook all the wonderful meals and getting tips from them and then trying them out at home for his mom and dad. He also worked at the Bellingham and Franklin post offices. Whenever out delivering the daily mail he always made sure he had plenty of doggie biscuits for the furry friends he met along the way.

After college he worked at Norfolk and Dedham Insurance Company in Dedham in the claims department. His love for older cars then drew him to American Classic were they would restore classic muscle cars. When parts couldn’t be located, or were severely damaged, he would configure and rebuild them to pristine condition. He also worked at Extreme Restoration where he would continue his vocation.

A favorite past time was painting landscapes in oil medium and drawing pencil and pastel portraits of his friends pets. He was a true artist in many ways. In his younger days, he always had a sketch pad charcoal pencils ready to draw a favorite caricature or special place he saw. As a surprise for his girlfriend Erica, he painted a beautiful mural in her living room of a Pacific island beach front as it looked out to the ocean.

He also loved to cook and prepare gourmet meals for his family and friends with his favorite Italian music playing during the preparation process. After dinner, he made sure that there was always time to play a game of Pitch. He loved it when he could outbid his friend Carmine and win the hand.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially on one of Uncle Dave’s fishing trips in Plymouth and catching a “Big One”. At the end of the day, he would unwind and take a cruise in his restored 1972 Olds Cutlass hoping to catch a sunset view.

He is also survived by his aunts, Linda DeCotis and her husband Al, of Medway, MA, Joyce DeMarzi of Great Barrington, MA and Nancy DeMarzi of Lee, MA and his uncle James Johnston, Franklin, MA. and his Godfather Robert Benedetto of Cotuit, MA.

He leaves many wonderful friends who loved him dearly and we will all miss the good times spent with him.

From up above, he is blowing kisses down to all of us.
